Sonic Port Does Not Work With Ik Amplitube For Ipad

Recommended Posts

Hi thanks for the help.  Can you explain the where the fx section is in Ampitube.  I can't seem to find it.  In the settings section it looks like Amliptube sees that I have a digital audio input, but no sound comes out.  I don't see any routing choices in the settings section.

I was able to get this working on iOS 6. Do you have a headphone/Monitor plugged into the SonicPort? I think that  the sound comes out of the SonicPort, not the iPAD.

FWIW: I wish it came out of of the iDevice because then I could bluetooth it to one of the many amp / speaker combos available.

The comment about fx routing was misleading - I imagine the poster was referring to Audiobus. I am using Sonicport with Amplitube and it seems ok BUT .......... Earlier today after switching between MobilePod and Amplitube the Sonic port crashed. I shut down and restarted and the problem went away, but I am watching it like the proverbial hawk because I am expecting this to be 100% reliable. Any problems and I will post again.

BTW... this SonicP is no.2 . The first didn't work AT ALL. Not on anything.

Funny thing I tried it again yesterday and now Amplitube is working.  I didn't change and settings on Amplitube.  Not sure what happened.  I am glad it is working.  I have noticed that if the Sonic Port is not being recognized that a reboot of the iPad will bring it back.  Had that happen Saturday during sound check.  Luckily the reboot bought it back.

Since a bit time has passed...

Can you guys confirm that Sonic Port does work reliably with Amplitube and Ampkit on iPad?

Is the same true for Mobile In?

I'm going to upgrade from an iRig (which is too noisy) to either the iRig HD, Ampkit Link HD or Sonic Port and this is a critical issue for me.

Thx!

Ok, just to report back, though this forum seems to be pretty dead anyways...

I received the Sonic Port today and I'm very happy with it.

I've been playing it with a passive bass to Ampkit on the iPad and it sounds very good, level is ok and no noise at all.

Didn't try guitar yet.
