HD 500X - Tap Tempo - Volume Pedal - Power Supply - Etc

I've had the 500X for a month or so now.  This is a great unit and I'm getting there with the tones I like.  I play direct to FOH.   I need some advice from you experienced users.

Tap Tempo.  Currently I am controlling a Strymon Timeline tempo via midi from the 500X tap button.  Works great but noisy.  I'm not a fan of the Line 6 stomp switches (coming from a Boss GT100) but here I am.  I play in church, quiet stage with IEMs.  I've read that you can't use the second expression pedal with a momentary switch.  Anyone have ideas for me, perhaps a midi switcher, but with a quiet switch?

Volume pedal.  I have calibrated the volume pedal but there seems to be a long throw before volume increases.  The entire range is not as linear as I would expect.  10% volume comes at 30%, bad example but just looking for thoughts.  It may just be it is what it is.

Does the volume pedal have to be controlled by one of the FS-1-8?

Input sensitivity.  I run a couple pedals in front of the 500X (currently an EP Booster and Plimsoul) and the Timeline in the loop.  I try to run the first pedals near unity with the 500X.  When I do get clipping I back off the pedals in front of the 500X.  Could someone explain the input impedance values and whether or not they would have any impact?  If you use pedals in front of the 500X I'd love to hear your suggestions.

Power Supply. I'm getting a ground loop using the FX loop.  I have the Timeline and 500X plugged into a power strip.  This is the same configuration I used with the GT100 without issue.  Is there a Pedal Power or something that could service both units possibly eliminating this issue?

Thanks for your input!
