arpeghy
Hi guys, I'm really excited about my new gear, but I'm really newby too. I wanna know if this scheme is correct: 1 - I connected an XLR cable from Pod to Dt50 head (Im using my old 4x12 Marshall cabinet)2 - I connected my guitar (Stratocaster) to my Pod 3 - ...Now what? Is this topology right? Does this ... sound? Do I need to connect another cable from pod guitar out to dt50 input? This is driving me crazy, and I now its a silly question, but I cant find any demo o tutorial that shows this.. Thanks and sorry about my poor english. CipherHost
That is correct. 1/4 inch guitar cord into Guitar In of the POD L6 Link from the POD (Where it says "Connect to L6 Link Only" on the back of the POD) into the L6 Link In on the back of the DT (Where it says "Connect to L6 Link Only" on the back of the POD). Power up the POD and wait for about 10 seconds until it finishes initializing, then power up the DT. Adjust settings to taste. Enjoy!
arpeghy
Thank you SO MUCH!Let me ask one more thing, please. Is there any "restriction" using modeling? Or I can use any Amp in my POD? Any recommendation? Thanks in advice!
CipherHost
You will find many opinions and recommendations here and on other forums, but what matters is what sounds good to you. That being said... You will want to make sure your firmware and drivers are all up to date. You can update the POD via USB with Line 6 Monkey (http://line6.com/software/). You will need the License Manager from that page as well to register your gear. If you wish to update your DT, you will need to connect via MIDI. (http://line6.com/dtv2update/) There are a lot of nuances and granularity to what you can do with your new POD. Some love to tweak their tones, some just want to plug in and play. If you are a tweaker, you have found Nirvana. If not, it may take some time to "adjust" to your new gear. There are lots of awesome folks on this forum with many years of experience and talent. If you like to read, you might enjoy Meambobbo's HD Guide site: http://foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/ There are some videos right here on Line6 for patch creation: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/tutorial-videos/line-6-video-tutorials-complete-list-r202 And of course, a good place to start is right here: http://line6.com/support/manuals/ Oh, and in answer to your question, no, there are no restrictions. The "pre" amps in your POD were "designed" for use with the DT amps, but you can use full amps if it sounds good. You might want to try playing around with the Input 1, Input 2 parameters. You will find plent to read about that on this forum. Cheers
