kev46
Hi - I recently purached an Amplifi 75 and guitar and was really ppleased with them both. I was inpressed once paired the sound quality of the music player and being able to play my music through the amp. I then plugged my guitar in and found the four preset tones, whihc were good. I then went into the app, which I am using the android on a samsung S5 phone and started to play music and wthin seconds it had founf the releavant toones to match the song. I then tried to send these to the amp but this did not work and I have now given up after trying for several days. When the song from the library is playing and I select the relevant tone this opens up the amp and effects ont he iinterface but enne when I turn the effects on and off this makes no difference to the sound. I have watched several videos oon youtube and then seem to tap on the tione and this transfers through to the amp and then they open the effects and pay around with these but again this does not work on mine. Very frustrated now and really need help. I called GAK, where I purchased the amp who could not help and they put me through to Yamaha who said they would nto help as they do not have the contract to offer support. They then gave me a number to Line 6 iin Germany the closest support for this amp, which would cost a fortune to call. This is really disappointing after sales service. Thanks Kev
phil_m
It sounds like perhaps you need to update the amp's firmware. Does the app say that the amp is connected and synced?
kev46
Hi is stated that it is paired on the phone and when I play music through the amplifi app it works fine.
phil_m
Sorry, it wasn't quite clear to me... So when you bring up a tone on the app, the amp changes accordingly then? Does the editor have any effect at all? If you select a different amp model, can you hear the sound change? I still think that re-installing the latest firmware would be the first thing I would do. kev46
Hi - No there is no change in the sound at all even if I chose a different amp or effect. Where do I get the latest firmware from I just downloaded the app onto my samsung S5. If you could send me the link and instructions that would be really good...thanks
phil_m
You can do it through the app, but it's a lot faster to do it through the Amplfi update utility found here: http://line6.com/software/index.html Select "Amplifi 75" in the first menu, and you'll see "Amplifi Utility" in the second. It takes about two minutes with the utility versus 45 minutes with the app.
kev46
Hi I have tried to do this but it states that there is a cable failure could you tell me what cable I need. The one that I am usinng is the one that connects my printer to the computer seems to be the same connection. Thanks
phil_m
You just need a regular USB 2.0 cable. One other thing I just remembered - you need to install the Amplifi 75 driver on your PC before running the updater. That is available from the same link I posted above. Just search for drivers in the second column.
kev46
Hi - I have done this and it has not worked. I have also tried a factory restore on the amp and that did not work either so any other advice would be greatfully received. The lead I am using is right as it is a new one that I purchased for my printer.
kev46
Hi - I have tried this on another computer and it is still not working it states that the lead has failed. I have used the right lead in a USB two slot and no luck in getting it to work. As I said I can stream music via the app on my Samsung S5 but this is not controlling the tones and make no difference to the sound of the guitar. Can you advice on what to do next????? thanks Kev
