questions on patches

I have the last version of the software

I have some questions:

 

1) Is there any reason to see some amps with default value for master volume =100%? when I put line6 doom for example, it does not sound good. Moreover, the default values are suggestions from Line6 to users? If so, some dont seem right.....

 

2) I ve seen some original patches from Line6 that the amplifier is after the mixer in the chain. I d like to know why and when used it.

 

3) In pod edit, when I see input guitar+aux+varx), if you have only a guitar, surely you d use guitar. If you have variax (which I dont have it) I think you will use it as variax or variax mags. So, why guitar+aux+varx)? why this is the default?

1. Probably only Line 6 knows for sure why some amps are at master volume 100%. One reason I've heard is that some of them (the real amps) don't actually have a master volume (some of the Marshall amps?). Isn't the Line 6 Doom an invention that doesn't exist in the real world?

 

2. I'm not entirely sure why you'd want to do this. Perhaps some weird effect that can only be achieved by using dual stereo paths before being amplified. I don't know.

 

3. It probably defaults like that so when you plug in an instrument on any of those inputs, you don't have to change this setting to hear sound; say If you plug in a variax and the default is guitar, you won't hear anything.

Yeah, 1 and 3 I could imagine, but I'd like to confirm with someone from line6

 

2- I'm just curious, I'd like to know how this setup can affect the sound or practical application in real world.
