Have I bought the wrong pedal?

Hi all,

my Express MKii has just arrived. I've read the various issues folks have had with it, and not found the answers I am looking for. However, I am starting to suspect that I should have bought the FBV shortboard.

In simple terms, with no detailed manual, it seems that my FBV mkii express only cycles through my four ABCD presets, gives me a tempo, tuner, volume and wah.

What I was hoping for is to be able to:

1.)  access the 200 odd presets by the pedal.

2.) switch effects on/off

3). maybe access the tones in the remote app (or is that he same as my 200 presets)?

Questions.

1) am I right thinking that the express ii only does the following: ABCD presets, tempo, tuner, volume and wah?

2) does the FBV short board enable me to do the things I want in points 1-3 above?

Thanks

Mark

Yes, you are correct.  You need the Shortboard MKII.

With it you can cycle through the 100 presets stored in the amp.  You cannot cycle through the patches stored in "My Tones".  In order to access those, you have to save them to the amp and overwrite one of the presets.

You can also enable/disable effects (via the Stomp, Mod, Delay, and Reverb buttons), as well as the compressor (via the "Function 1" button).

Thanks Jaguar9080, I was starting to suspect as much - that I had made a daft mistake.

I have just watched Rowbi's excellent video on here. I would post the link here - (drat, cant seem to paste for love nor money using the icons or ctrl v).

Thankfully I can exchange/upgrade the pedal.

  • 3 weeks later...

My Shortboard Mk II doesn't seem to do much more than switch between the 4 presets or turn the stompboxes on and off. is there some way to get access to the 100 presets?

You press the UP and DOWN buttons on the left side to cycle through each bank, and press A/B/C/D to select the corresponding patch stored in each slot.
