mlaptewicz
Hi all, Sorry for the newb question but I am a new Line6 User and new to the forum. I am trying to find POD HD500X patches for a very specific band project. I'm in a TOOL / A Perfect Circle cover band and I need some patches to approximate Adam Jones and Billy Howerdel rigs. I've seen 2 decent ones for Adam but only for other multi effects units (i.e. PODxt, TonePort or PODxtLive). Is there a way to convert these? I'm really surprised to see that these patches are not compatible. I could really use some help or advice! Thanks! -Mike Billy Howerdel patches for other multipeffects units. http://line6.com/customtone/tone/206736/ http://line6.com/customtone/tone/198180/ http://line6.com/customtone/tone/194148/ Adam Jones http://line6.com/customtone/tone/887910/ http://line6.com/customtone/tone/885873/ http://line6.com/customtone/tone/881337/ -Mike
cruisinon2
For the most part, Customtone is an exercise in futility. 98% of the time, whatever a patch sounded like to whomever crafted it, is not how it's gonna sound with your guitar(s) and your rig. I've wasted hours loading up patches that were supposed to sound like one player or another, only to be left wondering if the guy who uploaded it was deaf. The are just too many variables. You will find what you're looking for a whole lot quicker if you build patches yourself. Unfortunately, it's mostly trial and error. The other option is to find a tone that is close to what you need, and then season to taste...but relying on somebody else's idea of "the most fantabulous Slash tone ever" will usually be disappointing, and a serious time-waster. As for the compatibility between devices, I'm pretty sure you're out of luck...but if there is a way to make them work, somebody will chime in eventually.
