spiffums
I have an old Lab Series (Gibson/Moog) L11 full stack and the amp is starting to mess up so I'm thinking about getting a Spider IV HD150. I have been trying to research the answer to my question but I thought I'd ask here before I buy a $400 and mess it up. The cabs have a plate on the back that reads Quad 12" 16 ohm 200 watt max continuous output. How it hooks up now to the L11 head is 1 cable from the head into a cab and then another cable from that cab to the next cab. Looking at a picture of the back of the head it has 2 outputs 8 ohm Right and Left. In the cabinet-connection-and-ohm-faq-r436 it has a picture different from the IV HD150 but says 8 ohm out - Use the 2 B speaker outputs to drive two 16 Ohm cabs. So my question is can I get 2 speaker cables and run one cable from the 8 ohm Right into one cab and another cable from the 8 ohm Left into the other cab? fflbrgst
Yes, that is the way you would want to do it. You don't want to run the Spider amp with just one speaker output used.
