Reaching The 10 Lifetime Authorized Devices Limit, But They Are The Same...

Recommended Posts

Hi. I have been a Line 6 user for several years and I use my gear (podx3 and podstudios) on several computers/laptops because that’s what they are for... they are portable!.

For many reasons as viruses, system failures or just reinstallation of a new version of windows, I have to unauthorized and authorize the same computers and they appear in my account as different Authorized Devices. I almost reach the parameter of 10 lifetime devices, but they have been the same computers!

So, what happened if I use all my lifetime devices?? Am I not be able to authorize again my Pod studio or podx3 in my computers or in new ones if they die??

I think that this new system of yours is not fair!  I bought you a hardware/software to use it freely in any computer I want without limits, as it was before.

I hope you understand my preoccupation and provide me a solution, sorry for my English!

Thanks in advance!!

Hi.

I've got an USB sound card, the Pod Studio UX1

In my account I can see this message:

You currently are using 3 out of 4 active devices.

You currently are using 10 out of 10 lifetime devices.

When I try to authorize my computer appears this error:

Unable to authorize your device.

You have reached your limit of total lifetime device authorizations for this account

How can I reset my list of lifetime devices?

Thanks.

Thank you so much for information, Uber Guru!

I also wrote the letter to Line6 using text from opening question-post. xD
Good job explaining so widespread problem,

This system of Line 6 is a joke. I just discovered it.

A paid device should belong to you and no one else.

What is this crap system of authorizations?

We have hardware in our possession not software.

Please be serious Line 6 or else you will lose a lot of customers.

This system has been around for quite a long time now. What hardware are you using? If you open up a support ticket, they'll take care of this for you.

For what it's worth, the issue isn't the hardware. It's the software, and the customer never owns the software. You own a license for the software that entitles you to use it in certain ways.
