G70 woes

So I bought the g70 after exchanging my g30 that never had functional problems at all but the plastic broke so I used the coverage I paid for through gc. I put that and a bunch more towards a g70. The brand new g70 drops out often and I've read a firmware update will remedy this. I have now registered and downloaded the updated application for win7. When I attempt to sign in on my PC I get nothing but "http error" so I can't update it. I have tried turning off firewall and changing security settings. Nothing works. I am extremely furious that I have spent 500$ on something that doesn't work and now have wasted 3 hours attempting to fix it to absolutely no avail. For $500, I absolutely should not have to deal with this and waste ANY of my own time to make it right. It was, after all, my time that earned the money to buy it. So the price tag keeps rising and I'm heated! Something this expensive should just flat out fricking work! What can we do to fix this before I just return it and get something else? After all, I was very satisfied with the g30 until the plastic broke.

Well, I had a G50, upgraded to a G70, and after doing the update, has been flawless. It's the lowest latency/fastest wireless available on the market anywhere of any wireless of any price point, including $10k units.

So, to update the G70 you need the new 'Line6 updater', and you have to update firmware on both the transmitter and receiver. I had a couple issues trying to update, I think it worked better by downloading the file from the L6 website, then launching the updater app, tell it load from file.

Here is the specific quote I mentioned about G70 specs:

http://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/lets-talk-about-latency.1661651/#post-21246959

"G70 and G75 have 1.47ms of full throughput latency, which as far as I know, is the fastest digital wireless signal available, including broadcast systems over $100,000."
