I can't believe it … OS X El Capitan is out for 45 days, with OS X 10.11 I was not able to use my POD HD500X anymore as an audio interface via USB, OS X 10.11.1 let's me hear something again, but it sounds terrible and there are many glitches … It's still unusable.

I'm really disappointed at Line6 about their support. You should not treat your customers this way.

I think it's more of an Apple issue... EL Capitan seems to break most DAWs, known issue.

I have Cubase, not working with El Capitan.

Even Garage Band is not useable.

I've just tried a bêta d’10.11.2 (15C40a), still not working.

I hope Apple will make progress,

Don't blame Line 6, really.

Well, as already stated, it seems most, if not all, of the blame should be on Apple for this. El Capitan has taken a dump on the entire MI segment by most accounts.

  • 2 weeks later...

not buying it...El Capitan beta has been out for longer...wait for Apple?..ummm no. Have a work around firmware until Apple gets it together...I knew about this long before El Capitan came out to the public and let Line 6 know in detail..I expect more..they handled the iOS 9 crisis even worse...yes, it's a crisis when you can't use your equipment for months. Be proactive tons of apps were updating before iOS 9 release..those companies saw problems before the release because they were beta testing. I am staying with Line 6 because their tone rocks but they have a long way to go in technical support...

Yeah it may be Apple's fault unfortunately. i do agree that Line6 is very late with finding this out and not doing a thing to fix it. I have other interfaces that work perfectly. There is nothing special about L6 interface that they couldn't also be working. Cubase may need some lower functionality that is now broken or gone. But also possible to work around. Logic works fine for me. So Cubase could as well. Both of these companies have ignored the beta and hosed some of their customers. I am done with Cubase because of it. And will not be relying on L6 as an interface any longer. For those having trouble doing driver updates and registering packs, just use another computer to update the drivers and register the packs. It's a quick, easy workaround. Interface-wise I wouldn't wait around if you need it to work anytime soon. It sucks but that's the way it is. I suspect that there is a pretty small team at L6 overall and bet they outsource their OS, driver work.

I am personally not waiting on L6 who may be waiting on Apple. It might be a long wait.

DRIVERS UPDATED!!!!   Install works great for me.  I still can't see the device and model packs in License Manager through.  Easy enough to work around using a Windows machine since you only have to do this once.  Thanks L6!!!

Did you uninstall the old driver? If so how?
