Expression pedal setting

I have a POD HD Pro X, with a FBV2 Shortboard. I want to set up a patch so that I can switch the Wah in the patch on and off with the expression toe switch, and then control the sweep of the wah with the expression pedal, just as you would a normal wah.

The Wah is positioned in the appropriate place in the chain, but off by default. The red wah light on the FBV is on. The exp pedal has been assigned to the Wah effect block. However, when I press the expression pedal toe switch to activate the Wah, the green 'volume' led on the FBV is activated. Rocking the expression pedal back and forth does not active the Wah sweep, in fact it does nothing. What am I missing?

Make sure you have assigned the Wah FX to the correct EXP setting - EXP-1 or EXP-2. The lights on the pedal show the default settings (I believe that's Wah=EXP-1 and Vol=EXP-2). Note that the Exp Toe switch not only activates the Wah FX but also toggles the active EXP.  In your case, the pedal does nothing because after depressing the Toe switch the pedal is controlling the Vol, not Wah.

This means that your pedal should be in the Vol (EXP-2) position (not Wah EXP-1) when you save the preset with the Wah FX Off. Then, when you recall the preset, the Wah will be Off and the pedal will have EXP-2 (Vol) active. Now pressing the Toe Switch will both activate the Wah FX and also switch the active pedal to EXP-1, which will now control the sweep of the Wah.
