Pod Studio Ux Very Low Input

Recommended Posts

Is it normal that the input of my guitars (active or passive PU's, all the same) is very low and never exceeds -30dB with normal playing? Or is my UX1 broken?

Currently I have to crank the amps to get some volume, which is extremely annoying when recording. It feels as if there a huge noisegate in front of the UX1. I have very little sustain, and tapping is almost impossible unkess you ram on the strings like a manic...

it's normal , because the input signal is left dry and as input. this is to give you the overhead to use the amps and effects in pod farm later....

it's not typically fed to a guitar amp... usually to monitors/headphones or computer speakers.

I use POD Farm (and Revalver, Overloud TH2, etc. all the same low input problem), and my output goes directly to my monitors. The amps I mentioned are amps in POD Farm.

I watched some movies on Youtube about POD farm, and (also with a UX1 or UX2) their input is much higher than mine.

Are you new the UX1?

Is this a "black faced" POD Studio?

If you run the newest version of Monkey do you have green ticks for drivers, firmware and POD Farm?

Maybe you're overlooking a minor detail.

Have you adjusted the faders in POD Farm's mixer view?

Yes, it's only a few weeks old, so should be under warranty.

@Triryche

Yes, it's the black faced one.
I had some updates when I first connected the UX1, but no more after that.

I am the following driver level now:

Drivers: 4.2.5.4

USB Firmware: 1.01

Line 6 Monkey: 1.62

POD Farm 2: 2.55

I think the faders are fine, but if there's anything I can check, I'll check it :)

  • 3 months later...

Hi,

I have the problem. I'm not sure if my brand new UX1 has to be exchanged or not. My input level is very low as described by CRXLunatic . I also have a PODxT which has a higher input level in POD Farm 2.5. I understand that the dry signal should be low to enable further amplification, effects, etc., but it is low enough to make me uncertain.

I hope it's working as designed, please let me know if you have any further information. Thanks!
