SongDog
Hello. I purchased a Spider Jam & the footboard back in March of 2014, and due to being away from home on duty assignment I am just now getting a chance to play with it. My problems began when I wanted to take an existing song and modify the pitch without changing the tempo, and it seemed to be stuck in Varispeed mode, allowing the tempo to be changed only with a corresponding pitch change. I followed the instructions shown in the Owners Manual, pressing the Song/Drums Button twice, but instead of showing the following screen as reflected in the manual Tempo/Pitch Modes Looping On/Off Endless Play On/Off Recorder Overdub Level Play Preview On/Off it reflects a screen that only shows Endless Play (song)-[on/off] (drums)-[on/off] Playback Speed/Pitch Play Preview From there, I select Playback Speed/Pitch and it takes me into the screen where the knob changes both the Key and the Tempo simultaneously (Varispeed mode?). I'm unable to set the Pitch/Key and the Tempo/BPM separately (Time Stretch mode?). Nowhere in the SONG button could I find "Tempo/Pitch Modes". I checked the firmware version and it shows to be "DSP 1.04 / MCU 1.04" so realizing it needed updating, I inserted a formatted 2 gig SD card (it is actually a Micro SD card with the adaptor) into my computer and following the instructions reflected in the Owners Manual, went to download the firmware update from the website onto the SD card. However, the site gave a lot of choices that are confusing to a lay person like me, and nowhere did I see an 'Update Firmware' selection. Also, again the screen on the amp was not the same as the screen shown in the Owners Manual, i.e. when I access the "Save" button on the amp, it shows Save Recording Save Guitar Tone Erase Saved Recording Erase Demo Firmware Version but it does not have a "Firmware Upgrade" at the bottom of the selection list like the Owners Manual says it should have. Any advice / instruction to help me in getting these issues ironed out and actually start playing with the amp would be greatly appreciated!! Many thanx, SongDog
mjbayley
Hi SongDog, Have you had any luck or answers with this problem? My SJ is doing exactly the same thing, and all support can offer ( after I have bought 3 different SD cards on their advice) is to take it to the local service center. They suspect the card reader is faulty....... hmmmmm !!! Cheers, Mark
Brazzy
I'm wondering if the ribbon cable connection inside need to be cleaned or just pulled off and reconnected several times. This was what fixed the problem of SD card issues for at least one person I know of.
