Pod Pro HD in rebooting loop when a USB cable is inserted

Hi. Anybody else have this problem?

When I plug a USB cable in the back of the Pod it reboots every 2 seconds or so. The other end of the cable does not even need to be connected to the computer for it to happen.

Just one time, by fluke I guess, I was able to get it to work, so I quickly connected to line 6 monkey and successfully updated the flash memory and USB firmware. But that didn't help, I reset the Pod and now it's back to rebooting.

Otherwise works fine when there's no USB cable plugged in.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Check the USB port on your POD. There should be a black rectangular piece of plastic protecting the pins/connectors inside. If you don't see the plastic, and can see the pins, your Pod needs to be taken in to a authorized service center for repair.

I would go to Long & McQuade - a local Line 6 retailer. They are owned by Yorkville who is the Line 6 Canadian distributor and also operate the service centers. They may be able to order the part(s) for you.

Note that usb failures typically involve replacing an internal circuit board as well as the usb jack/port itself. The board usually gets blown when the port fails. Be very sure that you are comfortable doing this yourself.
