filtertip
Does anyone know where I can get a 6.35mm (1/4) Jack with a screw lock for the G70 transmitter? To explain: I haven't got it yet but I am replacing my old but trustworthy G50 with a new G70. On the G50, I made a cable with a Silent Jack on the guitar end and wanted to do the same for the G70. However, I notice that the G70 has a locking screw type jack on the transmitter end. Anyone know where I can get those as I cant find them anywhere.. filtertip
Hi Yes - but I was being cheap. Rather than buying a G70 cable and replacing the normal jack with a silent jack, I just wanted to buy the locking jack. I think its a Switchcraft but the only locking ones I can find are TRS. No issues now though - I have gone down your route. Cheers Mik
guitar54
Hi Mik - Did you ever find this? I did find that the part number is a Switchcraft 282. What is the TRS number? I can only find the stereo version which I might just buy and tie the two middle connections together - that will work I'm sure. Thanks - Chris
walterw2
you don't need the locking plug, a regular 1/4" plug clicks in tightly and holds just fine. i made myself a couple cables for my G75 with just regular switchcraft #280 plugs, using right angle plugs on the other end to go into my guitars. a quick google search shows the switchcraft #298 locking plug to be stereo, which you don't want. you also don't want to bother with non-switchcraft cheapies. i'd take regular switchcraft over locking also-ran any day. For what it's worth, I find that I *do* need the locking nut. I've had regular 1/4" plugs pop out on stage. And I'm not a very mobile player! I'm sure it has to do with various factors such as the specific plug and the amount of use the transmitter has had. My transmitter is used many times a week and all that plugging and unplugging may have loosened the tension a little on the jack. Anyway, for me, a locking nut is now a requirement.
