Using a K&K Trinity Mini Solo

Hey all!

I couldn't find this info anywhere so I was curious if anyone has had experience with this or knew how to do this.

I am interested in getting a K&K Trinity Mini Solo dual pickup system which would not include the preamp. I want to treat my POD HD500X as the preamp but still be able to control both the mic and the transducer signals separately but still only using the single guitar input. Does anyone how I could do this? I know it somehow splits both pickups when using the K&K preamp but I don't know if it automatically recognizes that it's two pickups from a single output.

Signal chain would be.....

Trinity pickups > single guitar output > HD500X guitar input > split mic and transducer signal (A and B signals) > stereo out.

Hope my question makes sense.

Thanks

You might not be able to run it that far without balancing the signal...But I imagine that this would be 3 conductor and you could use an adapter to split at the HD500 and take the mic into the mic and the pickup into the GTR input....You can adjust the inputZ to match it up a little better if you need to...Seems like maybe it would be doable, but I would have to have the stuff in hand to know exactly how to do it...The preamp seems to be two preamps that sums for you..

No experience with the K&K Trinity Mini Solo dual pickup system, but once you join the stereo signal into a mono signal, you won't be able to split the signal with the HD into the original mic and transducer signals. The stereo path you create with the HD will be a blend of the two. You would need a solution like spaceatl stated above and you might have a hard time with the signal to noise ratio without the pre-amp.

The KK Trinity Solo Mini uses a stereo TRSS 1/4" jack so you'll need an adapter to split the stereo signal into 2 unbalanced mono signals per space's comments above. The transducers will need to go into the guitar input using the highest input-Z setting on the HD500 (3Meg?). The mic will either go into the Aux input (if its signal is high enough, but I doubt it) or the XLR mic input via XLR-1/4" adaptor. Then adjust the mic level input to get the balance you want. You can also pan the Guitar/Mic inputs L/R to keep their entire signals chains and FX separate and rout them to the L/R stereo outputs.  The signal chain would look like this:

Trinity pickup -> guitar stereo out -> adapter to 2 mono signals (prob 1/4" & XLR) -> 2 HD500 inputs (prob Guitar & Mic) -> 2 separate A/B signal chains -> stereo output
