jaredstanfield
Just got my new HELIX and I'm loving it. One issue I'm having trouble with is figuring out how assign my reverb's mix parameter to the expression pedal. I play at my church and love the idea of being able to increase and decrease reverb mix quickly and easily without having to bend over and tweak my boss rv-5 like I've been doing. The issue seems to be that when I go into command center and assign the mix control to the expression pedal, the pedal will not only control the mix, but also the decay. Somehow both parameters are assigned to the controller. While it makes sense to pair these 2, I'd like to keep my decay long and just bring the mix down. Is this possible? When I first tried it on a copy of the factory 01A US Double Norm preset (which uses the '63 Norm Reverb block) in the Helix app, your issue appeared just as you described. All i did in the app was simply assign Exp 2 to control Mix. It controlled the Decay level too although in the app Decay was set to None in the app Controller Assign. I also checked Helix itself and found that Mix was set to None in Controller Assign. Now here's where things get even weirder... I could not fix this in the Helix app. I disconnected the USB and fixed it right on Helix itself in Menu>Controller Assign. Funny thing is, now when I go back into Helix app, I cannot replicate the issue on that preset, the original preset, any other preset, or even a new Reverb block on a blank preset. It seems to have mysteriously worked itself out. Maybe it's a bug in the beta editor we should report. I hate that I cant replicate it now. I've done all of my editing on the HELIX unit itself and that's where I have had the issue. Haven't even tried using the editor yet. Maybe I'll give that a try and see if it works! roscoe5
If you had that issue directly in Helix and have the latest firmware, you should report that as a bug.
roscoe5
Okay, one other thing I just noticed is that if you set your expression pedal before changing it from Decay (the first parameter) to Mix, the expression pedal assignment will stick to Decay also. Did you try to go back into Menu>Controller Assign and set Decay to None again?
jaredstanfield
Thanks, Roscoe! That did the trick!
