I want to get the G55 but see that it seems to have lost most of the cable Tone functionality, i.e. on (25ft) or off. Is this right? Also, it has lost the option to go to a tuner, any logic in these changes, am I missing something?

Cheers, Richard

I suspect (but don't know for certain, as I don't own one) that, in common with earlier Relay models, the output from the Relay V-55 receiver's rear-panel tip-sleeve jack may not be disabled when the beltpack's "Mute" is engaged, whereby it may still provide the full "private Tuner" function of those earlier models.

It's most certainly still usable as a "parallel" tip-sleeve jack output for such devices when the XL output is being sent to FOH.

As you say, however, the "Cable Tone" function would indeed appear to have been reduced to the setting that was most commonly employed by users of those earlier models ...and I'd be interested to hear from others whether or not they feel disadvantaged by this.
