musicimpossible
Have the opportunity to purchase a used JTV60 with a battery but no charger or VDI cable. Prior to purchasing a battery charger, if I purchase a VDI cable and connect the JTV to my Helix, would that power the guitar?
psarkissian
Yes. Effects boards (including Helix) with VDI jack will power JTV,as part of its function through the VDI cable. Be sure to use the actual VDI cable with the XLR shells on both ends. http://www.fullcompass.com/prod/115205-Line-6-Variax-Digital-Cable There is also the TRS cable, for when you are running with the battery,... http://store.line6.com/accessories/cables/variax-trs-cable-15.html ... TRS is used on many kinds of guitars like ours, with active electronics.
theKennyG
One warning though. You'll need a charged battery to connect to the Variax Workbench. At the moment, Helix doesn't act as an interface for workbench.
psarkissian
Correct,... there's a interface widget and cable for doing Workbench HD and updates through Monkey. That stuff will be in the manuals.
DannyMcO
On the Neutrik connections for Cat 5 cables, how does one release the locking tab on the RJ45?
silverhead
The RJ-45 locking tab is not engaged by the neutric connector. It locks with a rectangular hole in the neutric sleeve.
Charlie_Watt
You should remove the tab.
