Here's One For You Experienced Dt25/ Pod Hd500 Uders!

Morning All,

So, I'm running my guitar into the pod hd500, which is connected to my dt25 via the L6 link.

Now, my problem!

I primarily use 2 tones: Clean and distortion. My clean channel is assigned to say patch 1A. Its topology 1, A/B - a nice clean sparkly tone. My distortion is assigned to 1B, and is topology Iv, A/B (pretty much a treadplate sound.).

Now, My patch on the pod for the clean is fully amp/ cab simulated (Blackface I believe), but for my distortion, I actually deactivate modelling on the POD and have the amp do the distortion (after months of tweaking - the amp simply sounds better). I still use a noise gate/ wah etc... but the amp modelling is set to "no amp".

Tonally - both patches are fantastic. However, If I go from the clean channel to the distortion channel - there is a substantial volume drop. Initially, I thought my clean channel volume was simply set too high, but no matter how loud I set the clean channel, going to distortion from it is always quieter.

Any ideas?

If your distorted channel is with "no amp" model the sound is being produced by the DT25, so you need to use it's (default is channel "B") EQ section (drive, channel vol ect...). You could put a compressor on the patch too...

Ok,

Tried that - no joy.

I did find out that if I create a patch, and have the amp set to a footswitch - I can switch between dirty and clean within the same patch without an issue. It works, but its a shame that it limits me to one patch :(

There has to be some fundamental difference between the two patches that's not being captured. Try this: make a duplicate of the clean patch in HD Edit, disable the amp in the new patch (just disable, not remove), rename and save the new patch. That should give you the same thing you've figured out how to do now, only as two separate patches.
