Line 6 Toneport UX8 and Pod farm

Recommended Posts

Hello there

I currently own a Line 6 Toneport ux8, which I have owned for about 5 years. The device has never let me down, and the included Pod Farm 2 platinum bundle has become a fundamental part of my recording process.

Recently, I have upgraded my audio interface to a Focusrite Clarett 8 pre x, but I have kept the ux8 plugged in purely just to use the software.

Is there any way I can use the software without having the ux8 plugged in? As it does cause my mac a few audio driver problems having them both plugged in at the same time.

As an entirely separate question, if I sold the ux8, would the buyer be able to take my licence (the one linked to the ux8) and use the software, or would they have to buy the software themselves?

Ideally, I would like to keep my Pod Farm licence, but sell the hardware. If I could sell the hardware and the software together, I would definitely consider purchasing Pod Farm 2.5 and this would be an ideal solution for me, however I cant help but think it wont be that easy!

Kind regards

Tom

You bought the UX8 and "it" is the authorization to use PF. They are joined at the hip and where the UX8 goes so does its PF authorization. So you aren't selling a UX8 "and" PF you are just selling the UX8 which is authorized for it - (ie: dongle).

Hope that makes sense. :)
