Love It! Considering getting the L3T myself. How's it working for you?

using the stage source L3T changed everything for me... flat response and full range intelligent PA speaker is the way to go for digitally modeled sound.. example:POD. the added bonus is that I can also plug my takamine acoustic directly into it and also get great tone... it was worth every penny and I intend to expand my rig to include another L3T and also a L3S.

Just Courious.. How are you connecting your PODHD to the L3T? using the L6Link or from the 1/4' Line Out?

What is your Output Mode on the POD?

I like this thread!

This is my rig (the laney is spare, no longer used).  I'm the happiest I've ever been with my rig, but the emergence of the L series speakers has me in a quandary.

I've heard great reviews of them and undoubtedly they will offer great flexibility for live use.

Here's my dilemma.  I want something that can handle acoustic, bass and vocals for practice at home (rather than my studio monitors) that can also be used for small gigs.  The L2t/L3t seem to fit the bill.  I would need to sell the DT head to fund it - is it worth me considering?

Absolutely they will fit the bill. I switched to a pair of L3t's several months ago and won't go to anything else anytime soon. For studio work they immediately replaced my studio monitors (which I still have but rarely use now) and for small gigs they are FAR superior to the portable PA system I had (and have just sold). I also have an L3s which I use for gigs only if there's a bass guitar or drums, but for studio use and practice I leave it disconnected.

Here is my Line 6 gear.  Been a user and fan since '99 with my original Spider 210... also Gearport, Flextone II, POD HD500, DT-25HD. A whole bunch of other stuff has passed through my hands too along the way, amps, pedals, multi effects, rack gear.  Hard to get rid of most of it.  To think that I could let all of this go including all my guitars and just drop down to a JTV (59/69/89) and a L2t/L3t... blows my mind.  It would free up so much space and I could get rid of lots of support junk too.  Definitely be so much easier to gig with.

I have to say I am SERIOUSLY considering it in the new year...  Should I keep the DT and a cab too or would the L2t/L3t do the job...

I've been using a DT25 linked to an L2t for my stereo rig and I couldn't be more pleased. For solo gigs, I just pack up the the L2t, my JTV59, my POD HD500 and a mic, and I'm ready to go. I use the acoustic patches on the JTV exclusively now - no acoustic guitars. Everything sounds peerless.

how do you connect everything?  I understand the L6 link is no good because the DT and the LT force different POD output settings.  Another thread said he couldn't get a decent signal from the DT XLR out to the LT so that was confusing too.  Not sure how you are getting stereo with that setup but very interested...

+1 to that. Just bought an L3m to replace my Marshall 50w combo. Sacrilege I hear you say!!?? I was spending more time tweaking than playing which is just not right with the Marshall. The L3m sounds killer when used with my HD500 and JTV59 for electric and acoustic tones AND it's way easier to dial in great tones. For a gigging musician playing covers it's way more versatile than a regular amp.

I mostly play at home  and am always having fun learning how to play guitar so when I post a reply to try and help give ideas you know where I'm coming from. Rock-On!! Oh, and if I don't respond promptly I'm probably playing guitar or my computer locked up from multitasking 'cause I'm using Gear Box, HD500 Edit, Audacity and tab filled browsers all at the same time, Hahahaaaa. Surprisingly enough my 'puter handles the load more times than not. Lastly I'm not a salesman, I'm not trying to sell anyone anything here. This is my Dream Rig at present....

jennifer-lawrence-bikini-photo.jpg

Guitar wise, I got a JTV59 running into a POD HD500 via VDI cable, then out to a Boss RC30 and on to a pair of Tech21 Power Engines.  But J-Law here is MUCH better in my opinion.

Various Guitars -> Pod HD500x -> DT25 -> Recto 2x12

I know, I know, no variax.   :)

But, what I get is, I can always get the sound I want at any volume I need, whether mic'd or direct. :)

I didn't realize that stand can hold the HD Pro like that. I've been using it for a speaker cab for a while now. Thank you very much for the image 'cause now I know I can use it to hold my X3 Pro like that if need be.

I alternate: solo shows I stick to the stereo XLR outs on the POD and with my band I crank up the DT25
