CipherHost Posted August 10, 2016 Share Posted August 10, 2016 (edited) You can go to http://line6.com/software/index.htmland choose your DT50 amp (DH50HD, DT50112 or DT50212), but they all only have the 2.0 firmware. Not sure what manual you are looking at. POD Edit is 2.26, Helix is 2.1, HD500X is 2.62. Regardless, Monkey will give you the options you have for which ever piece of gear you want to update. All the best with your new amp. EDIT: I think you are looking at the two connectivity guides: L6 LINK Connectivity Guide for POD HD & DT Amplifiers v2.00 - English ( Rev E ) L6 LINK Connectivity Guide for POD HD & DT Amplifiers v2.10 - English ( Rev A ) Without going through them word for word, I think 2.1 is just an updated document. gstew Posted August 10, 2016 Author Share Posted August 10, 2016 Ah, OK. I got the HD500x and DT50 together tonight and started messing with things. The DT50 by itself is ridiculously great sounding. Used my Les Paul and Variax Standard plugged straight in to it and got some super tones. Now with the pedal board, just trying to figure out the relationship nuances between the two. Trying to understand the best theory of building the patches I need for an upcoming show. I had some various patches I have downloaded over the last year so I was rolling through those. I was wondering if the people that created the patches were hooked up to a DT amp, or just using the pedal board direct. Maybe I should just be building my patches from scratch. I'll put off tackling the Variax digital connection to the system for a bit while I get my sounds ironed out. Dream rig though, right? Fun technology. This DT50 is really amazing sounding....it makes the weight of the amp irrelevant. Wondering if using a microphone cord between the two is really a bad thing and if I should be springing for a special cable as recommended in the manual. CipherHost Posted August 10, 2016 Share Posted August 10, 2016 The DTs do sound good straight in. You will find a number of posts that differ in opinion as far as DT alone and using the POD. I have tried a few of the AX8 amps (disabling the power amp section and sometimes the cab) into the effects return of the DT50. Sounds awesome.
