you can get older ipads that would work for 169$

(it's a bestbuy site)

anyway... just throwing that out there for people...

the 4th gen you got is clearly better, but options is options.

my concern was that the app needs iOS 5.2, sooner or later it will be getting an update that will push it past an iPad 1 or 2, you know it will happen. Lets not forget when apple went to intel based hardware, it made everything else obsolete. at least this way I should be good to go for a wile...

yeah, i'd be wary for sure... but i do have an original ipad and a newer one, and the old programs work, they just don't update if ios6 or newer is required.

but even that leaves you 1 firmware update from having to upgrade... i generally go for new with apple stuff.. used prices aren't usually low enough to justify it for me... but 169$ is reasonable vs a used ipad.

well I looked at it like this, 4th gen isn't even a year old yet and this one I ordered strait from apple and it is refurbished and has the same 1 year warranty as a brand new one. I should be good for a wile. Also you know that Line 6 is working on a fix for the recording problem and the firmware update may also be fallowed with an app update as well just like before.

At the end of the day how can you go wrong with an iPad.  They are great devices, tons of apps, I'm always excited to get a new iPad.  Personally I got the mini not because it was cheaper, but I actually wanted something smaller to put on my mic stand and something smaller to carry and hold.  The actually screen size is only 2" diagonal smaller but the borders are far smaller so less wasted space.  I love it.

Also, in that same "settings" app, you can scroll down on the left to see other apps you have installed, and the settings for each one. For example, you will see the "stagescape" app here you can adjust a few settings such as whether it "auto connects" or if you want your knobs to go up or down by sliding in straight lines, or using an "arc" swipe.

I found what you were talking about but it still asked me to sign when I go to the app store to install anything it's just a little aggravating, I solved this problem another way on a Mac mini by making my password just a simple 1, I do understand why I just wish I could turn it off. The main reason is I am not a typer I am a hunt and peck style typer and the way that I am writing this is with the microphone.

do you mean the password to get into ipad or iPhone?  I don't have a password on either... If you are talking about when you purchase something from the app store... you have to have that our other people could just get your user name and start buying a bunch of music and apps on your app store account.

Yes but if you don't buy anything or give any credit card info they can't buy anything... And I did not. So I guess I have to change or clear the password on the apple site, huh?

You need an Apple ID in order to download even free apps (like the stagescape app) and regardless of whether you give credit card inof or buy any apps from the app store, you will always need a password for your apple id.  I understand your aggravation but you'll just have to go with your previous plan and come up with a password that is easy to remember and type in.  It shouldn't bee too much of an issue as it will only be required when you get another app or update your current apps.
