Podhd Screamer Versus Ts808

I've never thought that it sounded much different from a ts808 reissue that I have.

Of course the model is of a specific original ts807 that Line 6 own, and as we know, that doesn't sound quite the same as a reissue.

I don't think you will disappointed.

Works fine for me using the 4CM into a high-gain amp.

I do the "Max level/Min gain/Max Tone" thing to drive the input, boost highs, and cut bass before distortion, which is what most high-gain guys do. It does those things.

At performance volume into a high-gain amp, I doubt you could tell the difference between it and a physical 808 clone of reasonable quality- but I've never been an overdrive cork-sniffer.

Keep the Bass & Treble controls set to 50% for "stock" sounds, boost and cut to taste.

Thanks for the setup tips.  I finally had a chance to try it the other day through a Marshall JCM900 using the 4cm method.  I did the Max level/Min gain but didn't try the Max tone.  I found I had to back down the Max level to around 60 to keep the feedback under control at live volume levels.  It sounded really good but I gotta say the PODHD Pre-Amp into the JCM900 power section is damn good too.  It's really hard to tell the differance.
