After reading through the support archives, I noticed there is and will not be any support for Android for POD edit.

I'm not going to go out and pay 100s $ for a laptop just for the sole purpose of sitting it on the floor next to the POD HD500 just so that I can download and try out various custom tones, otherwise, I have to unplug the POD, carry it to the other end of the house place on the office desk, attach it to the PC, then download and sync the custom tones, unplug it, carry it back to the practice room, plug it in, try out the sound, maybe it's not right so off I go again back to the office, and repeat until I find a sound I like, and I'm not going to move all my equipment from the practice room into the office either lol,,,,,so, by using an Android app, and a tablet (people are using tablets more so than laptops now), I can just plug it in, fiddle around, get the sound I like, unplug it and done, all without laying on the floor next to a laptop, or moving it to the office,,,,,I can just lean the tablet on the music stand, and without akeyboard to get in the way, I can play around till I drop lol.

AMEN BROTHER.

But, in fairness ---

The unit is 6 years old. They weren't quite as 'mainstay' in 2010 as they are today. And music software tends to be "behind the times" due to a lack of need.

I mean, MIDI technology still measures in K, not M or G. And it is usually single or double digit K.. Floppy disks are more than enough. And most units still used them up until Microsoft stopped included the drive software as standard.

So, while I am right there with you wanting to at least be able to load/save patches with Android, I am not prepared to cuss them out just yet.

After reading through the support archives, I noticed there is and will not be any support for Android PC/Mac for POD Amplifi/Firehawk edit.

I'm not going to go out and pay 100s about $600 for a laptop iPhone just for the sole purpose of sitting it on the floor desk next to the POD HD500 Amplifi/Firehawk just so that I can download and try out various custom tones....

I understand your point, and I think Amplifi and Firehawk owners could say the same thing in reverse, as my edited version of your comments indicate.

But Line 6 has developed two different product lines for the mobile iOS/Android vs. the tethered PC/Mac users. That's not likely to change so users need to first decide how they most want to use their device: mobile vs. tethered, and select the product accordingly. Perhaps we all would like the best of both worlds but that's not the direction Line 6 has chosen.
