josegermain
When i plug my guitar to the guitar in , im getting a big amount of noise when using high gain, i also noticed that introduces some weird stuff that im sure is not only the amps gain acting up. I tested the aux in and everything noise related is gone, is very quiet in comparison and only one noise gate with low threshold ( 30) is enough to make it totally silent with high gain amps. Is the Aux in the same quality/gain structure as the Guitar In ? Why the guitar input sounds like that ? I just did this test because i was so upset with the pod being so noisy and bang.....what a diference.
cruisinon2
Try setting Input 1 to "guitar" and Input 2 to either Variax or Mic...anything except "Same". When both inputs are set to the same source, you're effectively doubling the input signal. If you've got hot pickups, and are using a ton of gain on top of that, sometimes things get a little unpleasant.
josegermain
Yeah i know that, even with the correct gain staging, the guitar in input was super noisy , like it's not grounded correctly. i can even hear changes in the noise character while i disconnect other electric equipment in the room. That's no the case with the Aux in. I can't believe how much time i was using it like that.
bjnette
Sounds like something wrong with the guitar in. Also check the input impedience on it and adjust it and see if it changes anything cheers
josegermain
Yeah i tried all of that. Now i wonder, is the the guitar input problem common and fixeable? If the aux in is actually the same as the guitar in , i don't care that much then, but i don't know for sure.
pfsmith0
+! to hurghanico. Plus, Guitar In had that pad switch while Aux does not. I did fairly extensive measurements on IO here and saw no differences between Aux and Guitar In other than input Z and the pad.
