Helix Supro

Sounds great! I plugged one of my Teles into the Supro when I first got my Helix and couldn't get anything I liked. I've learned a lot since then, might be time for a re-visit!

one secret is 3Sgima IR cab Supro.

If you don''t want to buy it, try others cabs of stock or 3rd party.

the 3sigma Supro is a 1x12"

This the stock cab of Supro that's why it sucks: Soup Pro Ellipse oval speaker 1 x 6x9" Supro® S6616

They could model the black magick of Jimmy Page or one of the reissue models...naaaah the crappiest Supro with a tiny oval speaker is much better!

Supro® S6616

This little oddball might seem an unlikely candidate for "classic amp" status but its distinctively fat, thick, organic smoothie of tone (rumored to be the source of some classic Zep tracks) has made it a go-to tool in studios around the world.

The Supro® S6616 of the late '50s and early '60s - manufactured by Valco in Chicago - has a single-ended 6V6 output stage, unusual preamp circuitry, and an oval 6"x9" speaker. Wind it up and the S6616 offers juicy, brown overdrive that can sound like a raging stack when mixed with the track, yet with a character all its own. Reined in to clean volumes, it is beautifully spanky and crisp. And at all levels that 6"x9" speaker yields nodes and peaks that contribute to that unusual and distinctive sonic voice that has come to be known as the Supro® S6616 sound.

Duly noted, thanks for the tip! I was indeed using the 6"x9" eliptical cab, I'll investigate some other options. I have a collection of Ownhammer and Red Wirez IRs, never have tried 3Sigma's stuff. They get a lot of positive attention, might be a good opportunity to try them out.

Change speaker and you'll find the right one

maybe a 1x12" or 2x12"

Before 3sigma made the Supro cab IR i've tried a 2x12" 65 amp 3sigma

It was good too.

I think the word you're looking for is "unique"  :)

There are lots of more normal sounding single 12" cabs.

The shop where i use to buy my gear has a real Supro dual tone reissue.

I'd like to try it.

Supro's made another small amp model 10" speaker.

I think they are the most interesting amps on the market today.

Because the Q/P rate is high.

They are almost boutique amp at reasonable price.

Not one of the models I could get anything good out of, did not have the sound I was expecting from a Supro regarding the use of Pagey or how good the pedals sound. So you have to use a Tel? Still not the early Zep sounds I always heard a Supro was used.

I was expecting an amp with the pedal qualities, seemed not to work well at all. First thing I did was up the speaker from that car stereo speaker nonsense. Still was not a good sounding amp for anything I need from clean to dirt. I mean wouldn't you have to model the one Page used????

****have to say best sound out of that model I have heard.
