MichaelL65
I'm pretty new to the POD line of products, my experience has been with DigiTech up until my GNX4 decided to crap out on me. Someone loaned me their HD300, which has pretty good sound, but not as much foot control as my GNX had. In fact, I was able to make a MIDI controller that could give my GNX some extra capabilities. I know the HD300 doesn't have real MIDI connectors, but it supposedly can use MIDI via the USB port. Is there a way without using a PC to send MIDI signals from a MIDI controller to the HD300 and if so, how? Also, is there a list of MIDI commands for the HD300? duncann
As far as I know, none of the HD devices has MIDI over USB. I know for sure that the HD500 and HD500X do not. And seeing as the HD300 has no physical MIDI ports, any sort of MIDI functionality for this device would be impossible.
BillBee
Comparing a 300 to a gnx4 is not quite equal. The GNX4 with the MFXSupermodels is a beast. To get an HD equivalent, minus the midi, start looking at the 500. Dual amps and flexible assigns.
MichaelL65
The Advanced Guide for the HD300 & HD400 Appendix B talks about using MIDI software with both models, but on re-reading it the main function - maybe only function - seems to be backing up and restoring presets. Not what I was hoping for.
