Wyattburp86
Hi all, Can you use the Line 6 Helix multi-effects board easily with a tube amp? I'd like to consider using it with no amp modeling and only use the effects to adjust the clean tone from the amp. Also, can the expression pedal be configured to control the master volume of your signal similar to a standalone volume pedal (e.g. Ernie Ball), even if the amp modeling is turned off? The goal would be to use the Helix's effects in lieu of a massive pedal board and use the built in volume pedal for volume control and swells. Thanks for the feedback! Best, WyattBurp86
Digital_Igloo
Yes, yes, and yes. We designed Helix to seamlessly fit into your workflow, not shoehorn you into its workflow.
seattleguitarist
Works great other than the lack of midi clock.
drspankle
I'm using it with a Marshall JTM and it sounds great. That said, I do wonder what it would sound like through an FRFR cab, as there is always bound to be a bit of amp colouring to the tone from the Marshall. Whoa...bold statement sir :). My Mark V is sitting unused as well, although I've yet to go FRFR. At least you've got a great amp in the stable if/when line 6 releases amp matching. Just rehearsed with the band today and it was really hard getting my patches to sit in the mix well. I know it's just a matter of adjustments - especially low cut seeing it was sounding pretty flubby. The one plus is it sounded and felt like a real amp - just not as good as the JP-2C yet...
