Appetite4GnR
Little bit about my style/setup: Hard Rock Style Heavy Gain Lead Guitar Solos in the style of Doug Aldrich Passive Pickups (Suhr Aldrich pickups) Amplitube 3 VST I have been a user of the Toneport GX (red front) now called the POD Studio GX for many years and it is all I have ever used or tried. The first one I had the headphone jack crapped out on me and now the second one after many years is starting to go. Usually what happens is if I nudge it or it moves, I lose all sound from it. So I decided to try out a Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface. I tried all my custom lead guitar heavy gain solo presets with the focusrite and I noticed that the awesome "bite and glassy" tone I enjoyed with the toneport was gone. The focusrite seems to have bloated up the sound and made it fuller, but I lost the bite and glass I really liked with the toneport. I wonder what could be causing the difference in tone? I think the focusrite is going back...
fflbrgst
My guess is that it is something in the Solo's preamp causing the difference.
