Variax 700 Tuning Peg Spacing And Size (in Mm)

Picking up a used Variax 700 Electric on Thursday. I plan on upgrading the tuners to the Tronical Tune system and can't find anywhere online the Spacing between the Tuning Pegs and the size of the hole.. My guess is probably 10mm.. But a definite answer on both questions would be very much appreciated. I'm convinced that one of their models would probably fit.. Or need minimal work to make them fit. Also getting a POD XT Live with the deal. Thanks a bunch guys and gals!

I plan on putting robot tuners on it.. If they fit. It isn't completely necessary though.

Is that to keep in tune or to for alt tunings?

In my opinion, benefit-wise:

Variax Alt Tuning > Robot Tuner Alt Tuning

Pros:

-Doesn't wear the strings down which cause string breakage

-Instant

-Can capo up

-Strings tension stays the same at all times, and therefor...

-Doesn't sound muddy when tuning down (a little bit when you got really low, but still pretty good)

Cons:

-Small latency

-Minor artifacts here and there

I got my Variax 700 on Thursday and tried the alternate tuning via Workbench.. I wasn't really.. Thrilled with it. It's do-able, for now. The guitar itself.. Absolutely fantastic, I won't ever look back. I tried the Tronical Tune system at NAMM when I went with the shop I work for and they're hands down, incredible. Takes literally 2 seconds to go to any desired tuning (which I use a lot of with my solo live loop rig). The problem with me really, is that I use too many open tunings to program into 10 custom slots, when taking into consideration that I do need some of those custom slots for other noise that I make besides alternate tunings. I use about 5-6 alternate tunings.. But that varies between 4-5 different instruments. I'd need about 3 1/2 custom banks, lol.

Again, I'm impressed by the thing so much that I won't ever look at another option for the type of gigs I'm doing. Beats the hell out of carrying about 5 different instruments. I was turned off by Line 6 when they first came out with the early PODs. Always have been a hardcore tube guy (still am but some complicated back issues are making me turn to lightweight digital gear).. But Line 6 is definitely winning me over, tbh. I'll still always have my Boogie, Soldano, and Budda.. But I probably won't ever carry them out again, haha.

Has anyone found an answer to this yet please?

Have a Variax 700 and was considering putting the electronics in another body with a vintage strat neck

Now I am starting to think it would be a mistake as 700 is a really nice Japanese made guitar which is almost as good as my old PRS

But I hate tuning guitars so I need Tronical - sooooooo???

Which one!
