arislaf
with more bite and punch. Seems lacking compared to my Les Paul. Change the pickups to the 89. And put the bridge a bit more down.
pearlfukinjam
Do you mean use the mags instead? If so, how would that work with the Alt Tunings?
roscoe5
Do you mean use the mags instead? If so, how would that work with the Alt Tunings? There is a 89 pickup model option in Workbench HD which will make the Les Paul hotter. I like it personally myself also. I didn't think about moving it down closer the bridge. pearlfukinjam
I used the 89 pickups in Workbench and it does sound quite a bit better. Not quite as good as my Les Paul, but it's pretty good and close. Thanks for the tip! Also I noticed that I get some plinky sounds when there is more gain and I have the tone knob turned up, esp on the higher frets of the mid/higher strings. But also the Low E. Any tips? Thx! "Piezo plink" is the Variax Achilles heel...it's cause(s) and "solutions" have been, and will continue to be debated until the end of time. Some JTVs suffer from it, others don't...and the ones that do have the issue, have it in varying degrees of severity. There's a biblical- length thread in here that's been going on for years regarding this problem..."Do you have the same problem with the 6th string?" The only "fixes" are home-grown, and vary as much as the problem itself. Sadly, L6 has officially abandoned attempts at resolving the issue. Read through that thread if you like...it'll take weeks, lol.
