power adapter suitability for my country

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a Line6 XD-V75HS Mic system thru amazon  and it came with a  DC1g power adapter.

The cardboard box  of the adaptor unit   has " US: Input 120V 60Hz"  tick marked.

The unit itself though  says "120-240 V 50-60Hz"

See pictures attached.

As I live in Bahrain, a country where the power is 220V 50Hz, I want to know whether it is safe if I use the supplied adapter as it is, and simply  plug it into the mains supply without any step down voltage transformer unit.

Regards

Cyrus

Well, I'd trust the label on the power supply more than I'd care about what the box says. This is just a switching power supply, so it makes sense that it would work with a broad range of input voltages. I think you'll be fine without a transformer.

EDIT: According to this article, the DC-1g is indeed universal, and will work without a transformer. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/general-faq/power-supplybattery-specs-and-faq-r445

Q: I am traveling overseas. How should I power my Line 6 device?
A: You can buy any adapter that converts your country's power to these specs and it will work. Any electronics store in your country should be able to sell you one, or you can contact your local Line 6 dealer. Be aware that the DC-1g and DC-3g power supplies are “universal†across all voltage and power standards around the world, and you will only need the appropriate adapter for a new region rather than a different power supply or transformer.
