haller88
I am having a number of volume related issues with the V 2.0 patch. I am running with the VDI cable into an HD500. With V 1.9 - I spent about an afternoon adjusting the volume levels to eliminate high input levels (mainly an issue with the acoustics and Lester) and bring up other volume levels. I really didn't have any issues with the individual string volumes with any versions 1.9 or lower. I upgrade to 2.0 and all of the guitars are different volumes (again - you would expect that because it wipes out the presets) and a portion of the guitars give high input level anomalies (a popping like sound you get when the input level is too high). I also notice that the string levels are now unbalanced - with the low strings on some guitars being quite loud and some of the upper strings being very soft. Help??? Should I re-install the patch? Should I spend an afternoon rebalancing the volumes and now rebalancing the string levels?
dkemusic
The overall volume of the various models doesn't really bother me, but like you I've found the balance between strings poor on many of the models. Dan
Charlie_Watt
Rebalance is the answer. Reinstall won't change anything.
jefflynyrd
Here's a link that has workbench of leveling all guitars. Props to oehman...http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=9388.
Charlie_Watt
One real nice feature (that was not available on my 500) is the string balance for each model. It used to be that you could only balance the strings globally. I do agree that many of the 2.0 models need a boost on the first and second string to sound the way I want them to. Maybe the guitars they modeled had the pickups set up that way.
jegler
Uh, yeah, I did the update to 2.0 and now the high E and high B are way out of balance (too quiet) on all my models. This is not good. What's the fix??
Charlie_Watt
Turn them up in Workbench!
ur2funky
I have two JTV-89's sitting next to each other. One with 1.9 the other 2.0, and one of them I flipped back an forth between 1.9 and 2.0 a couple times in one day a few weeks back. I've never had any of these issues. Could it be something else? jegler
Turn them up in Workbench! So you're saying the fix is to be constantly tethered to my computer? I've never used workbench, don't want to. I want to play. Can I just go in once and fix them to the onboard JTV model itself, and not have to have it saved as a patch on the hd500? Even so, what if I then want to audition new sounds with the tone all the way up? are my top strings gonna pop my head off? pain in the arse all the way around. This was NOT an issue with v1.9. Thanks anyway. I'm gonna try to rollback to 1.9 ( which is it's own pain in the lollipop- 1.9 only works on my XP work computer, I have a vista pc at home but that will only run 2.0 or 1.8 NOT 1.9. And Monkey won't even run on my main Mac...) . I'll let you know how it goes. JTV>VDI>HD500>L6>DT25
edstar1960
Problem is back with v2.1. I am gathering info to see if we can work out the cause and hopefully get Line6 to fix it. Here is my thread: http://line6.com/support/topic/7445-who-has-had-b-e-strings-very-low-volume-after-flash-upgrade/
edstar1960
If anyone is interested in hearing and seeing the actual problem, I have attached an audio to this thread: http://line6.com/support/topic/7445-who-has-had-b-e-strings-very-low-volume-after-flash-upgrade/ It demonstrates a T-MOD pos 1, I play twice from high E to low E on the 5th fret, using an AC-15 model, then I engage default NOISE GATE and TUBE DRIVE and play the notes twice again which just serves to emphasise the effect. When you view it in a DAW you can clearly see how each note increases in volume, revealing that all strings are affected, and that there is in fact just a steady crescendo through to the low E. Please note I picked each note with the same standard intensity. I wasn't trying to pick lightly or pick as hard as I could - just a steady constant pick.
