Lefty available???

Well apparently it's not technically a L6 product...seems they've just licensed out the guts. Probably have to ask the folks at Shuriken.

But I'll go out on a limb and say, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ;)

Just kidding. I sympathize with your plight, but I don't think you'll see a lefty Variax anytime soon, no matter who's building it. 27" scale length and lefty? They'll never sell enough for it to be cost effective. The righty's will be a tough sell as it is.

Check on the links with the old posting, there was mention of that with

the ones that Stevic McKay and his guitar maker were planning on. Not

certain what the status on that is at this time. Check with them.

I've worked on and played both versions, Stevic's prototype (cocobolo neck and it

was either ebony or dark rosewood fret-board) and the Line 6 version,... both very nice!

Hey Guys,

Since Im Lefty and Im very interested in the Shuriken, I´d really like Line6 to build one for the lefty section. But also I dont think this will happen, unfortunately. So my next question is: Can I buy the Shuriken specific parts and give this to a guitarbuilder of my choice to build me a lefthand version of the variax shuriken? Or would I have to disassamble a original shuriken? Or is it even possible because the bridge might be directional. Does someone know? Do Line6 Staff people also read this?

Thanks for help and opinions :P

Regards from Germany

Björn

At this point in time, I read that the Australian built ones may be available in left handed version

at some point. Check with Stevic McKay's Shuriken Facebook page for further information on that,

as I am not certain what the current word on that is.

I spoke to Stevic from Twelve Foot Ninja at a gig in Glasgow recently and I asked him about a lefty Shuriken and it's in the making. It might be a little while till it's available but there will be one!   :)

Hello!

Is there any news about lefty shuriken?

Maybe some one know - is it possible to take right haded shuriken and pull out all electroniÑ components - and set them to lefty guitar (similar "shuriken" which may be made in some custom shop)  - will it work correctly? Will it correctly work with diferents tunings ?

I'm pretty burnt out on being treated like a 2nd class human because I play left handed.

I sympathize with your plight... but it's a losing battle. These guitars are a niche product as it is... the average right handed player doesn't know they exist. For the number of lefty's they'd sell, they'd lose money just having the conversation about it in the boardroom...
