HD Looper Can you disable auto overdub?

In looper mode, when you stop recording, it immediately drops into overdub mode.  If you don't stop playing the riff exactly when you hit the stop recording button, you'll over dub that first note.  That causes volume of the first note of the loop to double.  I'd prefer that you aren't dropped into overdub immediately, and instead have to press the rec/overdub button again to start recording a new layer.

Is that configurable anywhere?  I can't seem to find it.

Maybe you need to update your firmware? When I loop there are two options to stop... the left button immediately starts overdubbing ( which I like sometimes) , and the right button plays the loop, and selected again it stops the loop.

I hope this helps you.

I robio1206.  I'm on the latest firmware.  You stated "the left button immediately starts overdubbing".  Yes, that's what I DON'T want.  I want to press the record to start a loop, then press the record to stop the loop.  Then I want to have to press the record button again to start recording an overdub.  Instead, it immediately starts recording an overdub, and any accidental notes I played before ending the loop are layered onto the loop.

when you are in Looper mode the Looper View screen shows what will be the next action of each of the Looper buttons if you press them, ie the Looper View screen doesn't show their current state..

the REC/OVERDUB (RECORD on screen) button starts a new Looper recording session, if you want to avoid going directly in overdub mode at the end of the loop you should press the PLAY/STOP button instead of REC/OVERDUB (DUB IN)..

now that the Looper is already in playback mode, when you want to add one or more layered tracks, press the REC/OVERDUB (DUB IN); when done press the REC/OVERDUB (DUB OUT) to go back to playback mode..

in case by accident you have re-recorded the start of the previous loop, you can use the UNDO button which will erase only the last recorded loop

AHHHHHhhhhh

That makes sense.  I was using REC/OVERDUB to stop the recording because I thought the PLAY/STOP would stop the loop completely.  In this case, it does what I wanted.  Just tested it.

Also good to know the UNDO would fix the overlap.  Didn't think that through.

Thanks so much!!!

Bummer that the looper is mono though.  Was just testing with my new Mimiq.  Would have been cool to have double tracked rhythm backing and then switch over to mono leads.  The loop just plays back mono if I turn the pedal off (it's running in the effects loop).
