Setting up FBV Express II with Pod HD Pro X

Hi all,

I have just recently bought the Pod HD Pro X, my first ever modelling amp, and I'm really pleased with the tones so far! My question regards ways to switch between them:

When I plug in the Express II, it defaults to selecting one patch per button (A, B, C or D) in whichever bank is selected on the pod. What I would really like to do is assign one button to switch back and forth between my two main patches, like a traditional 2 channel amp, then use the other buttons for less common sounds, or possibly just bring in different effects. This is purely for convenience when playing live, as I frequently have to flick back and forth quickly between clean and distortion, it's usually dark and sweaty and I don't wear my glasses... you get the picture!

Is this setup possible with this controller? I have downloaded the FBV control software but can't make head nor tail of it tbh... any help appreciated.

I don't think you can do that on express...You could do something like that with the shortboard using a dualtone patch....basically, you setup two amps, assign them to one button with one on and the other off and toggle your heart away...your FX would stay the same and it is pretty seamless...I don't think you can assign buttons on the express...

The other possibility I've come across is to use an fbv2. If I set up patches A & C to be one 'channel' and B & D to be the other, I could switch back and forth with either button. But then I can't use any other sounds. I may get one anyway as it's so small and convenient.

It's a shame Line 6 don't make a small (3-4 button) pedal where each switch can be fully customised. Maybe my needs are just a bit old fashioned.
