paulmccartneyfan
Hello...im having problems with the presets in my variax 600. On the les paul (lester preset on the variax) it keeps on switching into a strat model for some reason. When I turn it on or plug it in (via the Vdi cable or the line 6 power supply), it sounds good for 5 minutes and then it starts switching between the Lester (on the lester position) and a sparke(strat) this keeps on going for 5 more minutes untill it settles into the sparkle(staying into the lester position in the variax). The same thing happens with the acoustic 12 string, it keeps on glitching between the 12 string and the 6 string untill it remains as a 6 string after 5 minutes. Ive tried reflashing several times and the same thing keeps on happening. The other day I checked the battery compartment and I realized I had dead batteries for too long (there was a bit of white powder coming off them) I took them off and cleaned the compartment a bit. Maybe this affected the circuit. Has anybody has had the same issues, I really need your help, since im from SouthAmerica,Chile and there are no authorized Variax centers here or nobody who understands how to fix a variax. Thank you fellow musicians..I would trully apreciate your feedback!!
paulmccartneyfan
Just receiverd an answer on this topic from a support ticket. Unfortunatelly the only solution given was to send it to the authorized dealer. Im really afraid to send it there. The problem is that the dealer in Chile has several complaints from other fellow musicians, stating that they do nothing to solve technical problems and their instrument stays there for weeks before they return with no solution. Unfortunately the truth is that I might start telling other fellow musicians not to buy any Variax guitars...they are great to have but in this country if you have a problem with them you are done..At least in the US there seems to be great support for these products. I might take it to an electric--audio tech to see if he can do something. If not just dump it in the trash can.
