Thinking Of Selling My Dt25 Combo

Well I wish I was in a position to buy it right now. I tried one at the local GC and it seemed like a pretty nice amp to me, but I didn't really have time to check it out completely. Maybe some day I'll buy one. So the DT25 isn't as useful without a POD? You can't use it's features, or just don't use them?

the DT amps are still VERY useful without a pod....

especially if you set them up to your liking via midi.

I personally prefer using it with a pod, because of all the capabilities....

but the DT amps are a totally solid, totally versatile standalone amp as well.

I'll have to look into these amps in the next few months. Can't afford it right now, just bought a JTV-59 & a HD500X, & I'll be paying those 2 off for awhile. I have a tube amp I really like (Egnater Rebel-30), but there would be a lot of advantages using a DT amp with the interconnections to those two. I don't know in the long run whether I would use 1/10th of the capabilities that would give you or not, but it sure sounds like it could be pretty sweet. For the little bit of time I tried the one in the store, just as a standalone amp, without any connection to a POD, I thought it sounded pretty good.

Don't get me wrong I love how solid and great sounding this amp is,   I tried one a couple times at my GC and wanted one after that.

I just find myself not using all that it can do, I like the voicing that you can do.   I don't have a foot switch so I can't change channels remotely and I usually bypass the preamp so that I can go straight to the tubes.

I prefer the more analog sound,  I have been really listening to different recordings lately and am finding most of them are sterile, because  they are all processed and digital, not to my liking so much.

Indeed. I'd use mine with pedals except I really enjoy the PODHD 500X. Great for the 2 cover bands I'm in.

The problem that I find with pedals, is that the preamp section does affect the sound because it is not a straight shot to the tubes.  So I feel that something is lost in there, and I can use the return loop of the fx to do that, but it still seems to me that some of the warmth is missing.  I think the sounds are great though, just something missing.

Thanks,

Steve

Good Luck man... don't envy your situation, but i doubt you'll get anywhere close to "new" prices if you aren't an authorized reseller etc... no matter how new it is.

as they say... depreciation happens the minute you drive it off the lot...

you should probably be aiming for higher used prices (check ebays sold items) rather than lower new prices...

anyway not trying to bust down on you cause it sucks... but with your current strategy you're going to have it for a while.. so you may as well use it. :)

a quick look shows that you're not that far off... sorry it just seemed from the conversation that you were basing it off new prices...

might try putting what you really want on it say 750$ with the best offer option.... say maybe take the first 650$ you get...

but obviously thats for you to decide... again, good luck.

 $575???

wow, just checked yer sale link... Bite the bullet and dig into it.  Read the manual and watch some videos.  I guarantee you will find tones you didn't think possible from this amp.  Even with your pedals, it will perform well.  Downoad one of the DT Edit programs and really try out the various amp models. You can load 8 different models between the A and B channels and the 4 voicings...  I hate to see you take a beating on this when you haven't really given it a chance...
