Seravy
So I just got a Jackson Dinky 7 string guitar. At the store, I tried it out using the Spider IV Jam and I got amazing squealing pinch harmonics from it. When I plugged the new guitar into my Spider IV at home, I can't get the same harmonics that I got at the store. All this time, I thought it was my technique but it was my amp. Is there something I can adjust on the amp to get the harmonics going? Thanks!
fflbrgst
First, try adjusting the tone - different patches, or raising the treble level. You should be able to get them on any amp, but they could be muffled depending on the tone settings.
ADBrown
For this situation I would dial back from something really high gain until I found the sweet spot instead of building up to that point. So, I would start with some probably very high gain and dial back until I get the desired tone, instead of starting low and building to that point. Sometimes its better to reach a max and strip away what you don't need instead of incrementally add.
