listercoleman
Hi all, I asked this question before and got no answers but it was around Christmas so I'd like to try again. I stepped on the Variax input jack on my POD XT Live floorboard......while trying to traverse a cluttered studio......and broke it. I see this is an R-45 jack and is easily found. What I want to know is if this is an easy repair if one is handy with this kind of stuff and if there are any hidden issues for a non Line 6 tech taking off the back cover etc. I'm not afraid of the soldering etc, putting the new one in.....however there are a bunch of screws on the back and perhaps some of them are not supposed to be loosened when taking the cover off. Has anyone ever attempted this....perhaps to clean a scratchy pot or something. I'd love to get some input whether this can be done or if the best thing is to contact Support to send it in for repair. Thanks very much. listercoleman
Holee Crapolee!! Nevermind all. I just took it off and I was wrong....I am indeed afraid of the soldering. It's tight in there and there are so many little processors on that board.......yeah no...it goes to L6 or to an electronics repair place. Now to find such a place in my area. Thanks.
