Firehawk into PC

I currently have the Firehawk plugged into a pair of Mackie HR824mk2's by XLR.  I'd like to you use those speakers also for my PC, (music, YouTube videos, etc.) which is right next to my guitar set up.  I don't care to record my guitar playing but I realize I would need some sort of DAW to connect the firehawk too.  I would then connect my PC to a DAC then to the Mackies.

Is there a way of doing this?  What kind of free DAW software is recommended?  Do I have to adjust outputs on my PC when just listening to music vs. playing guitar or does the guitar work only when the DAW is running?  Many questions wondering how others are doing it, especially if your using a dedicated DAC.  Unfortunately Mackie does not recommend hooking up both XLR and RCA, I get that, but that is what I was hoping to do (just not running both connections at the same time).

Thanks for any feedback,

Shawn

If you don't want to record you don't need a DAW. Just connect your Firehawk to your PC via usb. Your Firehawk will, probably automatically, become your computer's soundcard. All PC-generated sound will be sent through the Firehawk and hence to its connected speakers. If it doesn't happen automatically you will simply need to manually change your PC's sound settings to use the Firehawk.

You will also need to download the Line 6 driver for Firehawk in order to be able to use the usb connection on your computer.
