telecustom88
Hello, new POD HD 500x owner here. I downloaded a couple of the patches off of the Line 6 website which worked great but apparently when I did that it deleted a couple of the presets in my main "setlist" I had my top two (one called "Tweedy" and another clean one) at the top of my list and they're now gone. Do the downloads delete and replace the top ones on the setlist that you have open?? I'm bummed I lost those two best ones that I had customized. Nothing in the manual about that as far as I could find. I apologize if this is a very common question but I'm a newbie! Thanks for the help
pianoguyy
My first question is - did you click the send or receive buttons? If not, then the patch changes shouldn't have been made permanent. Next up is your question - Yes, patches overwrite patches. But they don't automatically go "at the top". Based on the information given, I am going to assume that you did File/Open. In this instance, the patch will be installed on the position that you have selected. You don't want to use the File/Open method. In the future, you want to drag-and-drop. Even that has some nuances, but it is easier to control.
telecustom88
Thanks for the advice. Yes, I clicked "send/receive" so it saved the changes. Two patches that I brought into that setlist overwrote and deleted two of the existing patches (actually two of the pre-sets that I had customized) and it was the top two on my list. Live and learn! And yes, I did a file --> open and I'll try click and drag next time, thanks. I think maybe whatever setlist you have open is probably where it puts the patch when you do a file --> open so I should have just had an empty setlist open instead of a full one. At least I only lost two. Thanks again!
pfsmith0
I often save/backup a set list to disk before downloading and playing with new patches for this very reason. It is easy to wipe out hours of hard work. Having a backup to restore from has saved me multiple times.
pianoguyy
, the patch will be installed on the position that you have selected. HA, I am quoting myself. To clarify, I don't mean that you get to select where to put it. I meant, what you have selected prior to using the dropdown box, is where things will get installed. So, if you are on 1a, when you add a patch, that is where it will go. If you are on 16d, that is where it will go. You need to select where it is going first. Then you can use the drop down box
