Is there any way to transfer a user patch from a Spider Valve IV 120 to the Spider Valve MKII 100 HD Head?

I have used the editor to ' drop and add ' but the software won't let me. Yes I know the file extensions are different between the Spider Valve IV 120 and the Spider Valve MKII HD 100 head.

I have some custom patches that I have programmed in the 120 that I'm dying to use in the HD 100 but I can't seem to get them loaded in the HD 100.

Is there any software that will convert the file extension from the Spider IV to the file extension of the MKII HD 100?

I updated the firmware in the Spider IV 120 to the latest version also.

Can anyone help?

Even if there was a way to do this (and I’m relatively certain there is not), the patches would most likely need MAJOR tweaking before they would sound decent. Heck, just taking a patch that was made on one of the combos and importing it to the HD100 (or vice versa) usually takes a bit of work before it sounds good. The processors are the same, but the platform is completely different.

Hey thanks for the feedback...actually I have manually entered the parameters from one amp the the other ( from the Spider Valve IV 120 to the MK II HD 100 ) and surprisingly enough the MK II didn't sound too much different from the other amp.

Spoke to LIne 6 support and your right, there is not another work around for this.

The only way to bring the patches over is to manually enter the parameters from the Spider Valve IV to the MK II and then once loaded in to the MK II ' tweek ' them in as best you can to match them up.

I’m glad you’re having some success with manually entering the patches, but I think there may be another option for you. If I’m not mistaken, someone manually converted many (if not all) of the artist presets from the Spider IV over to the SV MKII and then uploaded them to the SV page of the “Customtone†section of this site (link is below). Even if you don’t find the specific things you are looking for, it’s still a great resource for tones. I’ve found that a lot of them need to be tweaked before I’m really happy with them, but they are a great starting point if you don’t want to create patches from scratch.

Thanks bro....that link totally helped me out....

And yes your right....after entering the parameters from the Spider IV to the MK II they have to be tweaked a bit in order to achieve the same sound and dynamics. Some more than others but adjustments need to be made once loaded into the MK II.

Again thanks bro...
