ADBrown Posted August 8, 2017 Share Posted August 8, 2017 Well assembling the original "dream rig" (PODHD500+Variax+DT amp) will cost some bit of money as you have to invest in 3 pieces of gear! Since a lot of this gear has been around for a little bit is does come up on sale every once in awhile. I do occasionally see a stray Variax or DT on clearance at guitar center, could be a good place to start. Since the release of other modelers, I think the idea of the dream rig may be a bit looser (L6 Multi-EFX + Variax + L6 Amp/Speaker), I think today's most common form is a Variax+Helix+FRFR Speaker.
