Hi, Bonjour,

How can I connect my Boss RC-30 Loop Station to the Spider V 240HC ? On my FENDER MUSTANG III Amp it is simple, but on my SPIDER V I cannot find a functionnal connecting. I tried with the Aux IN and a RFX out but the sound is very very noisy.

Is anybody has found to connect an external looper to this AMP ?

Thank you for your help ...

Merci pour votre assistance ...

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your help. Nevertheless with the SPIDER V 240HC the guitar is directly connected to it via GT10. And even if I connect the guitar via a cable to the looper and after to the amp main input, the clean sound for i.e. of my looper (back tracks mp3) is completely destroyed by the differents presets you can used with this amp.

THE AMP does'nt get the possibility to insert a looper after the PREAMP as my FENDER MUSTANG III AMP. So my question to LINE 6 : how can I do it ?

Thank you again for your help

Hi Roland, now that you have explained what you are trying to do, that explains your initial question.  Are you using the looper for looping your guitar at all, or just for backing tracks?  Unfortunately, the Line 6 amps don't offer a post-preamp FX loop circuit, something users have been asking for many years.

When using a looper for backing tracks, its best to send its output to a PA system, as guitar amps really are not made to reproduce full frequency undistorted sound which is what is needed for this application.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your answer. I want to use my looper for baking tracks and also for looping my guitar as I did it with my previous AMP. So now I understand that it's impossible. C'est dommage !!! Tan pis pour moi, je n'avais qu'à mieux examiner toutes les caractéristiques du Spider V avant de l'acheter...

  • 1 year later...

I was trying to do the same thing and came across this post saying imoossible.   Of course having an an effect loops possible would be nice and easier but not required.  I have set up and works beautifully for what I need.

I have a spider v 120 and wanted to hook my rc-300 to it.  Of course connected through instrument jack isn't going to work as all the tracks will replay with whatever the amp is set to and routing the direct outs to RC300 and then back I to aux of amp sucks because the next recorded loop will take whatever the signal is which then includes the previous loops.   Sigh.

I sort of found a solution that works for me, at least temporarily. Routed the direct outs from the back of the amp to the instrument inputs on the rc300 and then took the out from rc300 to the aux input Jack on the back of another amp in my case it is a fishman loudbox artist.  For my needs it works perfectly.    The signal from spider is always what is coming out and just records that.   I also have an ab switch box to change the input from the spider when electric and the fishman when accoustic.

Wish the spider had effect loop like others (including my loudbox).

Works great for what I need.   But needed two amps for it.  ;).
