Using Pedals Before Helix In Signal Chain?

I have a fuzz I like to use along with along with a couple of pitch effects (Sub N Up and DT Ricochet). Do I put these in the chain after the guitar but before the Helix? Is it safe to do so since it effects the guitar signal? Or should I put it in the send/return and place it before the Amp block?

I would test the fuzz pedals in the effects loops and in front of the Helix. It's possible that you'll really not be able to get the sound from the fuzz you like when it's in the Helix loops and you'll have to put it out front.

Sub N Up and Ricochet should be fine in the effects loop.

As you are exploring how the signal path alternatives sound, also try varying Helix's Guitar In Input Block's Impedence settings. The default is Auto. You may prefer some of other value settings. Give them a try and see what works best for you. Also, the default for the Guitar In Pad is Off. Many prefer it set to On. This may be changed in the Global Settings > I/O.

WIth the Helix's flexibility, there are no rules! If a particular signal path configuration/routing sounds good to you, go with it!
