Alrose
I am a newbie so please be gentle. I have a Line 6 Pod Farm UX 2 interface. What I am looking to accomplish is hooking up to my laptop and using Audacity recording vocals on an instrumental track that I load up. 1 track audio. 1 track vocals then combining the 2 into 1. I cant seem to get an answer on this, but is it possible? Please help! Thanks in advance!
Triryche
Yes it is possible. Are you starting from scratch, with no DAW experience?

Triryche
Since you are learning from scratch and depending on what your future recording plans are you may want to consider a DAW other than Audacity, which currently does not support ASIO out of the box (you can compile it to, check their wiki). Reaper is a full featured DAW with great documentation and an active forum. Also it is free to demo (virtually forever) unprincipled and well worth the $60 IMHO. It's a bit different with each DAW, but in a nutshell you would import your accompaniment track, then record you vocals to another track. When you are done you would render your tracks to an audio file (or bounce to another track). Most DAW's will require you to install an encoder if you want to render to mp3. I would recommend reading some of the tutorials and watching videos and post back if you get stuck or have new questions.
Alrose
That is exactly the recording process I am looking to accomplish. I will give Reaper a try. Thank you for your help.
